Hialeah Police find a woman body in Rotting State

Two adults arrested in the case were caught by a surveillance camera carrying the body of the woman, and also a 5-year-old boy, inside a residence. They would have been buying drugs before what happened.

Hialeah police on Thursday reported the arrest of Giancarlo Fuentes and Michael Schrum, who were caught on surveillance video loading a 38-year-old woman from a car into a residence, who was found dead a few hours later.

According to the arrest report, the woman’s barely 5-year-old son was also in the car, who is seen in the video when one of the suspects carries him loaded into the house.

Officers came to investigate a death, after a 911 call at around 2:00 pm, at a residence located near the intersection of Ludlam Road and 53rd Street in Hialeah, and upon arrival they immediately noticed the body in a slight decomposition state.

In addition, they reported that the condition of the body was not consistent with the time that had elapsed since one of the suspects, Giancarlo Fuentes, 27, said the victim did not respond.

The testimony that Fuentes initially gave to the police was also not consistent with the surveillance camera video, which showed him and the other suspect in the case, Michael Schrum, 42, carrying the woman’s body and the boy towards the interior of the residence, at 10:57 am.

The two men were transported to the Hialeah police station, where Schrum said he, Fuentes, the woman and the child had driven to Overtown, where they bought oxycodone pills. Apparently the woman took several.

On the way back to the residence, according to Schrum’s testimony in the arrest warrant, the young woman lost consciousness and when they arrived they carried her inside and laid her on a sofa. About twenty minutes later they realized that he was not breathing and decided to call 911.

According to the authorities Schrum is the biological father of the minor of 5 years and Fuentes is a friend of the couple.
