Labor Day 2020: What’s Open, Closed Around Miami

Monday is Labor Day which marks the traditional end of summer for most Americans though Miami is one of the lucky exceptions.

For us, it’s the last of summer’s big three holidays and most government and school offices will be closed around Miami.

Children who attend Miami-Dade County Public Schools will get a day off from their online classes Monday. School will resume on Tuesday.

All school district offices and region will also be closed Monday. They too will reopen Tuesday.

Miami-Dade County beaches will remain over the long holiday weekend but expect stepped up enforcement of social distancing and mask rules.

The 10 p.m. nightly Miami-Dade County curfew will also remain in effect all over the long holiday weekend.

Trash will be picked up as usual on Monday in Miami-Dade County. County trash and recycling centers will also be open.

Here’s some other planned closings on Monday:

  • City of Miami Garden offices will be closed
  • City of Coral Gables offices will be closed.
  • Aventura Government Center will be closed.
  • Miami-Dade County libraries and administrative offices will be closed.
  • Miami-Dade County courts will be closed.
  • Cutler Bay offices will be closed.
  • Palmetto Bay offices will be closed on Monday.
