Miami Beach mayor wants another CURFEW for Memorial Day after unruly Spring Break crowds led to mayhem

Following the crazy scenes out of Miami Beach during Spring Break, the mayor of Miami Beach is trying to anticipate what could happen during Memorial Day weekend.

To that end, Mayor Dan Gelber is expressing his desire for another curfew for the weekend, which is still almost two months away.

Recently, crowds descended upon Miami Beach, sparking both unrest and fears of a COVID-19 super-spreader event.

‘I’m supportive of a curfew because I think we need to act before Memorial Day, not in the midst of it,’ Gelber said to the Miami Herald.

The craziness of the crowds over Spring Break led to an 8pm curfew being imposed on March 20.

That curfew is currently expected to remain on place on the weekends, though the midnight curfew in the county for the rest of the week will be lifted on April 12, which coincides with the end of spring break.
