Most Expensive House in Palm Beach Sold for $122.7 Million

A final and monumental sale price has been revealed on a newly built Palm Beach megamansion that sold earlier this month: $122.7 million.

The nine-figure price tag was disclosed in property records filed at the end of last week and makes the oceanfront estate the most expensive to change hands in the upmarket enclave. It’s a distinction previously held by a beachfront mansion known as La Reverie, which hedge fund billionaire Steven Schonfeld bought as a family compound in 2019 for $111 million.

The home was built in 2020 on a 2.25-acre lot that was once part of a property owned by President Donald Trump.

The opulent spec house hit the market on Jan. 10 for $140 million, and just about a month later, on Feb. 12, the property was sold, records show.

Spanning a little over 21,000 square feet, the contemporary estate has nine bedrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, and backs onto the Atlantic Ocean, according to the listing that was held by Lawrence Moens of Lawrence A. Moens Associates, who did not immediately return a request for comment.

In 2008, Mr. Trump sold the estate for $95 million to Russian oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev, who in turn divided up the land and sold it off, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the sale of the property prior to the price being finalized.

The seller of the mansion—who bought the empty lot from Mr. Rybolovlev in 2017 for $37 million, records show—is an entity linked to local high-end home builder Mark T. Pulte, records show.

The buyer, identified in property records as a trust, is reportedly financier Scott Shleifer, partner and founder of a New York-based investment firm, according to the New York Post.

Mansion Global couldn’t independently confirm the identity of the home’s new owner and Mr. Shleifer could not be reached for comment.
