Shake Shack adds Black Truffle burger and Parmesan Garlic fries to menus

Shake Shack is going high end with its newest offerings.

The popular burger chain Tuesday announced that a Black Truffle Burger and Parmesan Garlic Fries with Black Truffle Sauce will be added to the menu.

The Black Truffle Burger is topped with Shake Shack’s black truffle sauce as well as Gruyere cheese and crispy shallots, all on a toasted potato bun, while the new fries will be topped with garlic parmesan cheese and a side of Black Truffle Sauce.

According to the company, the new black truffle menu items all include black truffle sauce made with a USDA Organic Black Truffle Arbequina Oil (a combination of Spanish black truffles and California extra virgin olive oil) from New York City-based luxury food purveyor Regalis Foods.

“Inspired by our fine dining roots with an emphasis on premium ingredients, we love crafting fun, delicious menu items in an elevated way,” Shake Shack culinary director Mark Rosati said with the announcement. “Our new Black Truffle Burger blends our roadside burger DNA with our fine dining heritage and is meant to be enjoyed by all — whenever and however our guests want it!”

Rosati said the black truffle sauce boasts truffle and umami flavors with the addition of caramelized mushrooms, thyme, fresh bay leaf, port and madeira fortified wines and parmesan cheese, with aged sherry vinegar added.

Starting Thursday, fans can order the black truffle oil-infused items at Shake Shack locations across the country.
