5 injured, including child, after driver crashes into palm tree in SW Miami-Dade

A one-car crash in Southwest Miami Dade has sent 5 people to the hospital and one of the injured is a child.

The 4-door Infiniti could be seen crashed and mangled after the driver hit a palm tree at Southwest 121 Street and 137th Avenue.

4 of the injured were transported to Kendall Regional Hospital, including 3 adults and a child, while one person was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital South. The injured were reportedly in critical and serious condition, but that has not yet been confirmed.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue was dispatched to the scene at 7 a.m. It is not clear what caused the crash. A large tree could be seen partially covering the roadway. The clean-up process had not yet begun as the investigation continued, according to Local 10 at the scene.

The roadway has been closed for several hours.
