The design of Apple’s electric car is perhaps one of the biggest questions posed to the public by the intriguing project of the maker of the iPhone. Announced seven years ago, what is known internally as “Project Titan” has been in full swing in recent weeks in the media due to the latest leaks that have occurred around the arrival date and the technology that it will bring.
Last week we brought to the cover what was one of the first recreations of the future design of Apple’s electric car, and although it will probably be very different from what will be the final design, the truth is that it does not have to be a more accurate image of which we want to make known today.
With the news about the future Apple electric car in full swing, recreations such as that of Erick Martinez, creative design consultant, who in 2019 dared to shape the hypothetical Apple electric car, come back to the surface, yielding a result whose image is more homogeneous and organic than the Content Creator we saw last week.
Erick Martinez has chosen to shape this iteration of the iCar through the proportions of a traditional saloon in which of course there is room for the logo of the bitten apple on its front, and in whose body the white color that contrasts with the black finish of the roof and the passenger compartment glass.
The bodywork sports fluid proportions of aerodynamic shapes that fit well with Apple’s design philosophy and could be the iCar, although remember, this is just a design exercise carried out by a designer completely outside of Apple.
One of the main hallmarks with which the iCar will hit the market (if it finally arrives) is that they intend to have the most advanced autonomous driving system on the market through LiDAR sensors with those released by the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and that in Erick Martinez’s design they can be accommodated in the stripes that we see both on the front and on the rear of the vehicle.
Since we announced that there were media that placed Apple’s electric car on the market in 2021, there have been established voices in the sector that, based on the lithium-ferrophosphate battery technology that Apple would have opted for and which CATL already has, they point out that such an arrival date could be possible. Of all the ways in which Apple could bring a car into production so imminently, one of the most meaningful is to do so through a future partner established in the automotive sector, or even to buy or acquire part of it. shareholding of any automobile firm and do it through it.
Meanwhile, others less optimistic have pointed directly that it will not be until between 2025 and 2027 when there is a hypothetical launch. In particular, MacRumors analysts comment that the main reason why Apple has not yet launched its electric car, and why it may never finally be launched, is due to the amount of accumulated big data that, although launches this year, they will have lost according to what they see as their main rivals, Volkswagen and Tesla.
