As of Sunday, nearly 256,000 people have received the COVID-19 vaccine in Florida, and two Broward County parks are among the locations across the state that have been converted into vaccination sites for seniors.

Those who are eligible to receive the vaccine can make an appointment online.

One of those sites, Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, was busy Monday morning, but Local 10 News reporter Madeleine Wright was told the vaccinations overall were going pretty smoothly.

Members of the National Guard were out at the location to facilitate the process.

There are currently eight white tents where drivers pull up to before rolling their windows down and getting the shot in their arm without ever having to leave their car.

The drive-through testing site is by appointment only and the only way to book an appointment is via the website browardcovidvaccine.com.

At last check, the website was working, but a message stated that all appointments are booked for the next several weeks.

Those who receive the vaccine will receive an appointment card telling them when to come back for the second dose.
