A highway through Florida could be named after Donald Trump

A Florida lawmaker said on his Twitter account that he will support an amendment to rename a long Florida highway in honor of former President Donald Trump.

Representative Anthony Sabatini, who represents Florida’s 32nd district in the Orlando area, said he plans to push a bill in the next legislative session that would change the name of Highway 27 to “President Donald J. Trump’s Highway.”

“I look forward to working on this important designation in honor of one of the greatest presidents in United States history,” Sabatini tweeted on Tuesday, just before Donald Trump left the White House after calling for elections against Joe Biden, who took office. the power.

What is the road you want to rename?
Highway 27 is 481 miles long and crosses the entire state of Florida from north to south from Miami to Tallahassee.

The highway runs through the north side of Tallahassee and is better known as North Monroe Street.

It also continues through the eastern half of the city as Apalachee Parkway once it reaches the Florida Capitol building.

You will have to debate the proposal in the Legislature
Sabatini has been a staunch supporter of Trump, who already lives in his private Mar-a-Lago club after leaving office Wednesday.

Sabatini’s proposal will have to be discussed during the 2021 session of the Florida Legislature that begins March 2 and lasts for 60 days.
