Cyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run in Southwest Miami-Dade

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who killed a cyclist in Southwest Miami-Dade Thursday night.

Miami-Dade police found the victim after responding to the scene at 196th Street and Southwest 127th Avenue, south of Zoo Miami, just after 9 p.m.

The male victim was laying in the roadway with injuries. He was transported to Jackson Medical Hospital South by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue where he passed away.

Police are looking for a 2000-2003 Lexus RX300 with damage on the right side as well as missing door molding on the passenger side, last seen heading west.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
