Firefighters Battle Large Blaze at Oakland Park Business

Crews responded to a large fire at a business in Oakland Park Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported at 4201 Northeast 6th Avenue, a Styrofoam manufacturing business.

Oakland Park officials said there was an explosion reported at the business, which led to the fire.

The 14 people who were in the building at the time were evacuated, and no injuries were reported, officials said.

Footage showed multiple fire trucks hosing down the building, which appeared to have been badly damaged.

About 100 fire personnel responded, from Oakland Park, Broward Sheriff’s Office and Fort Lauderdale.

Officials said the fire was extinguished but streets in the area were closed.
