NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A man was injured during a shooting on Tuesday in Miami-Dade County.

North Miami Beach police officers found the man injured near the intersection of Northeast 14th Avenue and Northeast 171st Street.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel took the man to the Jackson North Medical Center.

A relative said the victim was talking to his girlfriend on the phone while walking to a nearby store when he was shot. Detectives were going door to door in search of possible witnesses.

Officers are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
