Mezcalista Is Miami’s Newest Haute Hideaway

Earlier this year, the highly anticipated Moxy South Beach made its grand debut, presenting a whimsical wonderland expertly crafted to satisfy all of your South Beach cravings. Aside from its alluring design elements that take guests on an excitingly emblematic Miami journey, the height of the experience lies within the culturally driven food and beverage offerings. Indicative of its name, the key element of the latter is its extensive offering of the beloved Mexicanborn libation—mezcal. Featuring an impressive collection of 210 mezcals and its derivative, tequila, cocktail lovers will delight in the inspired offerings. Helmed by award-winning mixologist Bryan Canales and with expert mezcaliers on hand at all times, the experience is just as educational as it is entertaining. Explaining the different floral and smoky notes, the experts guide guests through a vibrant journey that allows them to choose the ideal cocktail to their liking based on different flavor profiles, ingredients, herbs and fruits.

Keeping in theme with the captivating design of the hotel, Mezcalista boasts its own unique interior elements that give it an enchanting appeal. Curated by Saladino Design Studios, Mezcalista is nestled in a catacomblike space that pays homage to the ancient traditions of mezcal. Upon entry, guests are greeted by striking red-hued lighting that illuminates copper shelves flanking exquisite glass bottles of mezcal and tequila, and two grand wooden doors that lead into the discreet lounge. Inside, guests are led to banquettes upholstered in leather and velvet with views of the intricate bar area topped with black Nero stone and terracotta walls. For a more intimate setting, Mezcalista features a velvet-draped private tasting room surrounded by elegant stone walls that caters to small parties.

Amid the high-level craft, clubgoers relish a dark and intimate environment that is heightened by live DJ performances that inevitably lead to late-night dancing on the banquettes. Rejoice in the inimitable spirit of Mexican culture and clink your El Diablo in a setting that boasts both exclusivity and class. 921 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, @mezcalista_miami
