MIA Has Flights To Africa Once Again, Now World’s 15th Busiest Airport

Royal Air Maroc resumed flights from Casablanca to Miami yesterday.

MIA also continues to climb the rankings of the world’s busiest airport.

The new RAM flights are the only nonstop scheduled passenger services between Florida and Africa.

Casablanca becomes the 94th international destination with nonstop service from MIA, the second-busiest airport in the U.S. for international passengers.

RAM’s flights will operate two times per week this month, increasing to three weekly in May. The airline uses a 787-9 on the route.

Royal Air Maroc first began flying from Miami to Casablanca in 2019, but then suspended service in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Since then, Miami has soared to new records, with traffic well above 2019 levels.

According to OAG, MIA traffic in March 2022 was expected to be 17.2% higher than March 2019.

MIA’s traffic levels for the month made it the 15th busiest in the world.
