Miami Beach experiences dry, optimal weather conditions as Tropical Depression Fred shifts further west

MIAMI BEACH, FLA. – Tropical Depression Fred left South Florida dry Saturday morning, allowing residents and visitors to go for a swim or go kite surfing in Miami Beach.

One group of tourists flew in from Denver to take in the ocean sunrise on vacation, but still keeping a close eye on the weather.

“If it was that bad, they wouldn’t let us through when we flew into Miami,” said a tourist.

Even so, locals didn’t want to take any chances, filling up sandbags and preparing property.

Parts of Miami Beach saw extensive flooding early Friday morning. As a result, city leaders have deployed several pumps.

Back on the beach, conditions were optimal, which was a welcome sight for a bachelorette party, who stayed up all night to see the sunrise.

“It’s so pretty, I’m so excited,” said a woman from the bachelorette group. “I’m a mom of two, so I don’t really get to do these type of things.”
