Miami Heat’s Wade, Haslem shutting down their Aventura restaurant

After nearly four years in business, Miami Heat mega stars Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem are closing their first restaurant together: 800° Woodfired Kitchen in Aventura.

In an announcement on the restaurant’s website, they cited labor shortages and supply chain issues since the pandemic that they said has “challenged” the business.

The Aventura location at 2956 NE 199th St. was a franchise of Chef Anthony Carron’s original 800 Degrees, a West Coast brand, which has locations throughout the United States.

Wade and Haslem opened the Aventura site in 2018 and added some of their own flair to dishes on the menu naming items after themselves, including UD’s 800° Woodfire Wings and the DWade’s 800° Sliders.

They’ve left the restaurant door open by stating that they are closing the location “while they take some time to reevaluate operations and the space” and even cracked it open wider by adding: “We will miss serving you, but we have more in store for you, Miami,” and signed it D. Wade and UD.

The 800° Woodfired Kitchen Aventura was co-owned by Wade and Haslem, however, Wade remains a global partner and will continue to “help propel the brand’s expansion nationally and globally,” according to 800°.
