New On Netflix: The Best Movies and TV Shows Coming in April 2022

Spring is upon us, and Netflix’s ever-growing content cycle is in full bloom. April 2022 will see several beloved series return, including the final runs of Ozark and Grace and Frankie. The month kicks off with new projects from Richard Linklater—an animated film about adolescence called Apollo 1o ½: A Space Age Childhood—and Judd Apatow, who wrote and directed the pandemic-era comedy The Bubble

Later in the month, several splashy documentaries will hit the streaming platform as well. On April 7, there’s Return to Space, which charts Elon Musk and SpaceX engineers’ intergalactic escapades. That’s followed by April 19’s White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch, and The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes on April 27. Prepare your Google search history accordingly.

Here’s what else is coming to Netflix in April:

The second season of Natasha Lyonne’s Emmy-nominated series makes its long-awaited debut with new cast members Annie Murphy (from Schitt’s Creek), Sharlto Copley, and Carolyn Michelle Smith joining Nadia’s time loop after three years away.

TV’s favorite luxury real estate agents are back for a fifth season, released just four months after the last. This installment promises a look at the interoffice relationship between Chrishell Stause and The Oppenheim Group’s Jason, which has already fizzled out behind-the-scenes. It will also address the fallout from agent Christine Quinn versus…well, the rest of the office.

Ozark (April 29)

Jason BatemanLaura Linney, and Julia Garner headline the final seven episodes of Ozark’s bifurcated fourth season, which began with a bang in January. Several questions about the characters remain: what will happen with Ruth’s latest business venture? Are Wendy and Marty going to make it as a couple? And how will four seasons’ worth of money laundering shake out with the FBI looming?

Grace and Frankie (April 29)

After releasing the first four episodes of its final season last August, Grace and Frankie will conclude its seven-season run on Netflix. Like Ozark, the show’s last episodes will address our titular characters’ involvement in a money laundering scheme. With only 12 episodes to go, how will Jane Fonda’s Grace and Lily Tomlin’s Frankie keep their beachside bungalow from the law enforcement—and their prying ex-husbands?
