Police chase ends in Miramar after cross-county pursuit

MIRAMAR, FLA. – A cross-county police chase has ended in Miramar with one person in custody.

7SkyForce HD hovered above as a police SUV followed behind a black Infiniti in the area of Northwest 183rd Street and 37th Avenue, just before 10:30 a.m., Thursday.

A Miami-Dade Police helicopter tracked the vehicle until the driver continued into Pembroke Pines and Miramar in Broward County.

Police then advised authorities in Broward County about the vehicle. The driver later pulled into a shopping plaza at 2600 South University Drive in Miramar before parking the vehicle.

Aerial views showed the vehicle parked next to a pink van.

According to Miramar Police, officers responded to the scene to assist MDPD officers who had received a report of a disturbance at a Dunkin’ Donuts in the plaza.

The subject who caused the disturbance was detained by Miramar Police and was held for Miami-Dade Police to determine if they were the driver who led officers on the chase.

7News cameras captured one man being put into the back of a police cruiser.

Neither Miami-Dade Police nor Miramar Police have confirmed if the man who was detained is the driver from the chase.
