Rapper WizDaWizard found dead in Hallandale Beach

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Hallandale Beach police are investigating after a South Florida rapper was found dead in front of a home early Friday morning.

While police have not confirmed his identity, people at the scene and on social media say that the victim was Wisdom Williams, a Broward County artist who had ties to Kodak Black and went by the stage name WizDaWizard.

Investigators say foul play is suspected.

The body was found at about 6 a.m. in front of a home on Northwest 6th Terrace and 9th Court. It’s not known if Williams was killed at that location or if his body was brought there.

Police said the victim grew up in that neighborhood, though he hadn’t lived there recently.

Sky 10 flew over the scene where the body was covered with a yellow tarp, and about 100 people later gathered there looking for answers.

At one point, a man crossed the police tape to see the body of his family member. Police tried to stop him and it briefly escalated before officers cleared the scene.

“When you suspect it might be a family member of yours, or a loved one, you would want to try to confirm that for yourself,” Hallandale Beach police Capt. Megan Jones said. “It wasn’t anything malicious or ill will. It was just trying to get their own confirmation.”

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies showed up to assist, and Jones said “the investigation continues.”

“There’s going to be detectives reaching out to the family, friends, trying to get some more information,” she added. “We’re making a plea to the public at this time that if anyone has any information that could help us assist with a suspect then that would be greatly appreciated.”
