Several people detained following shootout in Miami-Dade McDonald’s parking lot

PINECREST, Fla. – A fight outside a fast food restaurant in Pinecrest Monday night ended in a hail of gunfire.

Detectives said the shootout was between two men.

A man involved in the shooting, Azmeer Sayed, 20, told Local 10 News reporter Annaliese Garcia that he went to the McDonald’s on South Dixie Highway near 124th Street to speak to his 19-year-old girlfriend, who works there.

He said two other employees then went outside and starting fighting with him over his girlfriend.

“Well, I tried to talk to her outside to have a mature conversation about some other issues, and these two people came out acting like big macho men, coming up to me like, ‘Oh, you wanna bang it out?’ I’m like, ‘What do you mean?’” Sayed said.

He said the two employees shot at him and his friend who was there, and his friend fired back at them.

According to Sayed, his friend was shot in the leg.

“He was bleeding from his thigh, gushing blood,” Sayed explained. “I started freaking out. I’m like, ‘Oh no.’ So I ripped off my shirt, tried to compress the wound so it could stop the bleeding, and then I went outside and told people to ‘call 911, my brother got shot, he’s dying.’”

Sayed said they then drove away from the scene and crashed their car into a light post a couple blocks from the McDonald’s.

Evidence markers on the ground indicated several rounds were fired.
