Surveillance camera tech charged with video voyeurism in Palm Beach

A security surveillance system technician is facing a charge of video voyeurism.

Palm Beach Police arrested 47-year-old Jeremy Dale Lewis last Thursday, almost a year into the investigation.

According to the arrest report, the victim called “Ask the Advisors” on July 23, 2020 to come to his home to service his surveillance cameras. The victim said he had cameras in every room of the residence except for the bathroom and master bedroom.

A few days after the work, the victim told police he received an email from a Vice President at “Ask the Advisors,” who said his security cameras were recording sensitive areas which include the dressing room in the master bedroom and the guest bedroom. According to the arrest report, the victim noticed that four employees had access to the camera system. The victim sent an email back to the Vice President of “Ask the Advisors,” asking for all employees to be removed from having access to the system.

A week later, police said the victim checked his security camera account and noticed two employees had logged into the system and looked at several videos of a woman and a man in various stages of undress. According to police, Lewis was one of those two employees who logged into the account, mostly before or after work hours.

On July 23, 2020, police said Lewis logged into the account and watched nine archived videos and 25 live videos between 10:09 p.m. and 10:34 p.m. One video showed a woman undressing in her dressing room.

On July 24, 2020, police said Lewis watched four archived videos and three live videos between 7:28 a.m. and 8:28 a.m. One video showed a shirtless man walking around in his boxer briefs. A second video showed a woman in the dressing room with her bare breasts and buttocks visible to the camera.

On July 25, 2020, police said Lewis logged into the system around 7:30 a.m. and watched five videos.

On July 26, 2020, between 10:03 p.m. and 10:23 p.m., police said Lewis watched 18 archived videos and two live videos of a woman in a dressing room.

On July 28, 2020, at 2:50 p.m., police said Lewis logged into the system and watched two archived videos and one live video of a woman undressing in the dressing room.

Lewis told police he installed the surveillance system but denied logging into the victim’s account to watch explicit archived videos.

Last week, authorities executed a search warrant at a home on New York Street in West Palm Beach, where Lewis lived with his wife and two sons.

The company Vice President told police Lewis had worked for “Ask the Advisors” for over 20 years.

Police arrested a second suspect in the case in January. Michael Reilly, 54, is also facing a charge of video voyeurism. Police said Reilly, who also worked for “Ask the Advisors,” watched more than 600 live and archived videos over a five-day period in July 2020 of a woman undressing in her dressing room, and of a couple having sex.

According to the report, investigators believe Lewis and Reilly communicated with each other before and after work hours to coordinate views of specific videos to view inside the home.
