Bugle Miami

YouTube star Jake Paul, 24, who claims COVID is a hoax parties on maskless yacht as the hookah pipe gets shared around

YouTube star Jake Paul has been spotted partying and mingling on a crowded yacht in Miami amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 24-year-old YouTuber turned boxer was seen on the yacht off the coast of Miami Beach, Florida on Sunday.

The tattooed, 6ft blonde, who recently relocated from Los Angeles to Miami, was shirtless and wearing blue swim trunks.

He was seen on both the upper and lower decks of the boat, which was named Belladonna, as he mixed and mingled with other revelers.

Partygoers gathered in small groups both on the boat and on rafts in the water and some passed around a hookah pipe.

No guests were seen wearing face masks during the yacht party.

Florida is among the states that has very few COVID-19 restrictions. There is no statewide mask mandate and no limits on social gatherings.

Florida Gov Ron DeSantis lifted all restrictions on bars, restaurants and virtually every other business back in September. DeSantis has refused to shut down schools statewide and has said a mask mandate is ‘off the table.’

Two months ago, he criticized states with harsher restrictions, like California and New York, and said he trusted his residents to ‘use common sense’.

Paul, who turned 24 last week, has previously been quoted as saying he thinking COVID-19 is a ‘hoax’.

The controversial online star made the claims late last year as he criticized other influencers for attending parties and not social distancing despite pretending they are quarantining online.

In an interview with the Daily Beast, Paul said the US needed to life COVID-19 restrictions and go back to normal.

‘This is the most detrimental thing to our society. COVID cases are at less than 1 percent, and I think the disease is a hoax,’ Paul said.

He later tried to backpedal on his comments, saying he was misquoted. The reporter, however, hit back and tweeted out a link to the interview audio in which the YouTuber described the outbreak as a hoax.

Paul had also previously stated that he would not stop partying despite the pandemic after he was criticized for throwing a large, maskless party in his home in Calabasas, California last July.

He put that $6.9 million home on the market last month as part of his plan to relocate permanently to Florida to focus on his boxing career.

Paul rose to fame on the now-defunct app Vine and is known for posting reckless and adventurous videos on YouTube.
